Don’t Replace—Revitalize Your Cabinetry

Your cabinets are the centerpiece of your kitchen. If they are structurally sound but look outdated, dark, or worn, you don’t need to spend $20,000+ on new ones.

At Pro 1 Painting Inc., we specialize in cabinet refinishing that turns tired wood into a modern masterpiece. Unlike standard wall painting, cabinets require industrial-grade durability. We use specialized cleaning agents, primers, and hard-enamel coatings designed to withstand daily use, heat, and grease. The result? A smooth, hard shell that looks and feels like it came straight from the factory.

Not Just a Paint Job—It’s a Restoration

We don’t just slap paint on wood. We follow a rigorous protocol to ensure the finish doesn’t chip or peel.

Spray vs. Brush: We never use brushes or rollers on cabinet doors. We use low-pressure sprayers to create a glass-smooth finish with zero brush marks.

Industrial Materials: Wall paint is for walls. For cabinets, we use KCMA-certified coatings (like Sherwin-Williams Gallery Series or Kem Aqua) that resist moisture, food stains, and chipping.

Cost-Effective: Achieve a high-end custom look for 70-80% less than the cost of installing new custom cabinets.

Our 5-Step Cabinet Painting Process

Achieving a durable finish requires patience and preparation. Here is how we transform your kitchen in just 4–6 days:

1

Removal & Protection

We carefully remove all cabinet doors, drawers, and hardware. These are transported to our shop or a designated spray zone to ensure no mess in your kitchen. We then mask off countertops, appliances, and floors to protect your home.

2

Deep Cleaning & Degreasing

Kitchens are full of hidden grease and oils that ruin paint adhesion. We scrub every inch of your cabinets with a powerful industrial degreaser and de-glosser to strip away years of residue.

3

Sanding & Repair

We thoroughly sand the surfaces to open the "pores" of the wood, ensuring the new coating bites hard. We also fill small dings, scratches, and grain patterns (if requested) for a smooth surface.

4

Bonding Primer

We apply a specialized bonding primer that seals the wood and blocks tannins (the natural oils in wood that bleed through and turn paint yellow). This creates the perfect foundation for the color coat.

5

Factory-Finish Topcoat

Using professional spray equipment, we apply multiple coats of premium durable enamel. We sand between coats for an ultra-smooth feel. Once cured, we re-install your doors and hardware, leaving you with a "brand new" kitchen.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cabinet Painting

Will the paint chip or peel off my cabinets?

Not with our process. We do not use standard wall paint. We use industrial-grade, KCMA-certified coatings (like Sherwin-Williams Gallery Series or Kem Aqua) designed specifically for cabinetry. These products dry to a hard, durable enamel shell that resists moisture, grease, and daily wear much better than traditional latex paint.

Do you spray the cabinets or brush them?

We spray all doors and drawer fronts using professional low-pressure equipment to ensure a flawless, glass-smooth “factory finish” with no brush marks. We only use brushes on the frames where spraying isn’t possible inside the house, but we use self-leveling paint to minimize texture.

How much can I save by refinishing instead of replacing?

Refinishing your existing cabinets typically costs 70% to 80% less than buying and installing new custom cabinets. It is the most cost-effective way to modernize your kitchen without the massive expense and demolition of a full remodel.

How long does the process take?

Most kitchen cabinet projects are completed in 5 to 6 days. We take the doors to our shop to spray them, which minimizes the time we spend in your home. You will have full access to your kitchen for most of the project (except for the day we paint the frames).

Do you offer a warranty on cabinet painting?

Yes. We are confident in our prep and application process, so we offer a 3-Year Warranty against peeling or blistering. If the finish fails due to our workmanship within three years, we will fix it at no charge.
